These two sister schools offer students from around the world outstanding preparation for top universities. Particularly popular with future scientists and economists, CATS College Cambridge and The Worthgate School Canterbury (formerly CATS College Canterbury) focus entirely on international sixth formers.
Both belong to the award-winning CATS Global Schools network, with campuses around the world. Their most striking feature is their almost entirely international student body. Curriculum, pastoral care, and meals are all tailored to reflect this diversity. With decades of experience supporting international boarders, the schools are experts in areas like English as a second language and student wellbeing.
Cambridge and Canterbury – modern settings in historic cities
CATS College Cambridge is a striking new boarding school right in the heart of one of the world’s most prestigious university cities. Just as impressive, The Worthgate School sits near the historic centre of Canterbury and enables students to sample university life before they even apply.

CATS College in Detail
Academic focus
Both schools offer a range of internationally recognised programmes, including the IB Diploma at Canterbury. Students benefit from state-of-the-art science labs, digital resources, and stimulating courses: Global Politics and Sociology are standout subjects in Canterbury, while Cambridge offers Mandarin, Cantonese and even Russian. Cambridge pupils are also treated to regular lectures from University of Cambridge professors. The academic ambition is clear – both schools aim to act as a launchpad into Britain’s best universities. With offers from all 24 Russell Group universities, they’re succeeding. Universities from the UK and beyond visit both campuses regularly to meet potential applicants.
Sport
Canterbury offers a wide range of sports, from football and volleyball to swimming. Active students earn ‘Healthy Living Tokens’ for their boarding house, which can lead to prizes. In Cambridge, students can try more unusual sports, including Jujitsu, Muay Thai, yoga, Taekwondo, gymnastics, and even indoor rowing. Sports facilities on campus are well used, even during breaktimes, and additional activities take place in nearby city venues.
Co-curricular life
Students are actively encouraged to explore their host cities – from cinemas and theatres to festivals like the Cambridge Science Festival or the Canterbury Food and Drink Festival. Both schools offer a wide variety of clubs and enrichment activities, including breakdancing, cookery, robotics, drama, and even a ‘Thinkology Club’. Day trips and overseas excursions to places like Paris and Madrid are a regular feature. Boarding is comfortable and modern – most students enjoy single rooms with en-suite bathrooms, although some shared options are available.
Creative Arts
Art and Design is part of the curriculum at both schools, with hands-on projects that students enjoy. Art lovers are perfectly placed to visit the many museums and galleries in Canterbury, Cambridge, and London, including the Tate Modern. Drama clubs, choirs, and music schools give students a chance to explore their creative side. Dance and craft activities are also on offer. Aspiring artists can also join Art Portfolio courses to help prepare for university applications, with opportunities to progress to partner colleges offering foundation art courses after graduation.

Every boarding school has its own character and ethos. Having personally visited more than 100 schools, we understand these nuances. We also work with schools that do not pay commission, ensuring that our advice remains independent and always in the best interest of your child.
Our roots lie in the UK. For years, we have placed 200–300 families annually into British boarding schools. While our portfolio now includes schools beyond Britain, the UK remains at the heart of what we do.
Our tailored approach results in exceptional acceptance rates. For example, in 2022/23, all seven students we placed at the highly selective Malvern College received offers – a 100% success rate.
We arrange for prospective families to speak with our current students to hear first-hand accounts of life at a UK boarding school.
