Claremont Senior School builds on the strong foundation of its prep and primary schools and its international partnerships. Growing rapidly, it now boasts dedicated football and cricket academies alongside excellent creative facilities.
Claremont encompasses two schools: the prep and primary school founded in 1925, and the more recently established Senior School, which opened in 2011. The Senior School is situated in the historic centre of the small town of Bodiam in south-east England, best known for its majestic castle ruins.
Since its founding, the school has grown swiftly to around 300 pupils — thanks in part to its membership in the International School Partnership network, which aims to make its 70+ member schools the very best in their local areas. Claremont has benefited from investment in its facilities and was rated Outstanding in all areas in its 2019 government inspection.

Claremont School in Detail
Academics
The learning environment here buzzes with creativity and initiative, and qualities such as perseverance and resilience are highly valued. It pays off: in 2023, nearly half of all A-level candidates (43%) achieved the top A*/A grades. Over three-quarters of pupils also secured offers from their first-choice universities. Alongside A-levels, students can also opt for BTECs or hands-on vocational pathways in Digital Media and Entrepreneurship. This is a real strength, offering exciting alternatives for more practically minded students. The Sixth Form Centre provides older students with a dedicated space to practise independent study and get a taste of university life.
The Arts
For its lively music, dance, and drama programmes, Claremont Senior School was crowned Independent School of the Year for Performing Arts in 2021. In 2023 it won the ISA Award for Excellence and Innovation in the Performing Arts. The school encourages creative thinking in all areas of life, but in the theatre department creativity truly knows no bounds. Music Technology is growing in popularity, teaching students to produce their own music — skills they can also apply to the school’s podcast. The art department offers painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.
Sport
The two school sites share their sports facilities, giving pupils access to a wide range of options. As well as a sports centre, dance studio and all-weather pitch, there are excellent riding opportunities and an invigorating cross-country trail through the woods. Claremont starts fostering a lifelong love of sport from the early years, offering plenty of fun and competition. A real highlight is the multicultural football academy, where students from 26 different nationalities train together — experiencing English football while also learning the distinctive regional styles of their peers. Despite the focus on sport, Claremont keeps a close eye on the academic progress of its athletes too.
Boarding and Enrichment
On some days, boarders can even choose from three different trips. The boarding houses are well-connected to London by train, making the capital’s museums and attractions popular destinations. Pupils appreciate that the boarding houses are off-campus, giving them an early taste of life beyond school. Weekends are packed with communal activities such as bowling, cinema trips, climbing, or ice-skating — all great opportunities to forge friendships. The extracurricular offer is continually adapted to suit students’ interests, with current favourites including the Space Society, Music Production, and the Eco Club.

Every boarding school has its own character and ethos. Having personally visited more than 100 schools, we understand these nuances. We also work with schools that do not pay commission, ensuring that our advice remains independent and always in the best interest of your child.
Our roots lie in the UK. For years, we have placed 200–300 families annually into British boarding schools. While our portfolio now includes schools beyond Britain, the UK remains at the heart of what we do.
Our tailored approach results in exceptional acceptance rates. For example, in 2022/23, all seven students we placed at the highly selective Malvern College received offers – a 100% success rate.
We arrange for prospective families to speak with our current students to hear first-hand accounts of life at a UK boarding school.
