Embley in Detail
Academic life
Small class sizes ensure that every young person benefits from highly personalised attention and guidance. Teachers actively support their academic success, nurture individual strengths, and help students to grow in confidence and independence. Pupils work towards GCSEs and, in the Sixth Form, choose from a wide range of A-level subjects tailored to their future aspirations. Notable options include Music Technology, 3D Design, Psychology, and Business. They also learn subject-specific study strategies and develop the confidence to take charge of their own progress as they move through the senior years; learning how to learn is part of the journey here.
Creative arts
At Embley, creativity is celebrated in all its forms. Each year sees no fewer than eight theatre productions, offering plenty of opportunity for budding actors to shine. The music department boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a brand-new studio equipped with professional software, enabling students to compose and record their own pieces to a high standard. There are numerous ensembles — choirs, orchestras, and bands — which perform regularly at school and beyond. Beyond the curriculum, creative workshops, from jewellery-making to chocolate-crafting, give everyone the chance to explore their artistic side, whatever their starting point.
Sport
Sport at Embley goes far beyond the usual school offering. A particular highlight is the sailing programme, where students head out regularly from Lymington harbour in the school’s own fleet. Other options include horse riding, climbing, kayaking, hockey, cricket, and much more. Facilities are excellent, even extending to a private 9-hole golf course, open to players of all abilities. Talented rugby players can take advantage of the elite Rugby Coaching Programme, run in partnership with the prestigious SW7 Academy. Embley enjoys a strong reputation across a range of sporting disciplines.
Leisure
With around 170 activities on offer, Embley provides an extraordinary variety of ways to spend free time — from creative and entrepreneurial clubs to social initiatives. Weekends bring cultural excursions, sporting challenges, and often a spot of shopping. Pupils can even try scuba diving, skiing, or climbing. After a busy day, students unwind with board games, crafts, baking, or simply relaxing. Sports enthusiasts make use of the sports hall, tennis courts, golf course, and gym, and day pupils are warmly invited to join boarders on weekend trips and birthday celebrations.

Every boarding school has its own character and ethos. Having personally visited more than 100 schools, we understand these nuances. We also work with schools that do not pay commission, ensuring that our advice remains independent and always in the best interest of your child.
Our roots lie in the UK. For years, we have placed 200–300 families annually into British boarding schools. While our portfolio now includes schools beyond Britain, the UK remains at the heart of what we do.
Our tailored approach results in exceptional acceptance rates. For example, in 2022/23, all seven students we placed at the highly selective Malvern College received offers – a 100% success rate.
We arrange for prospective families to speak with our current students to hear first-hand accounts of life at a UK boarding school.
