Felsted offers an all-round education of the highest calibre in a safe and beautiful setting. Whether your child is passionate about business, sport or music, they’ll find exceptional opportunities here.
Just an hour from London and Cambridge, Felsted School sits proudly in North Essex. Founded in 1564, the school’s handsome red-brick buildings are cloaked in fiery red ivy in the autumn – an unforgettable sight. This spacious, secure campus encircling the cricket quare is a place students are proud to call home. Felsted is regarded as one of the top IB boarding schools in southern England.
Business-minded students in particular will thrive here, with early exposure to real-world practice. But the school is no less inspiring for pupils with strengths in the sciences, languages, arts or humanities – all taught by experienced, passionate teachers. With a balanced international intake of around 20% of students, Felsted therefore retains a distinctly British character, and the breadth of opportunity leaves pupils visibly happy and fulfilled.

Felsted School in Detail
Academic Excellence
Felsted offers a rigorous academic programme, delivered by subject specialists who support students across a wide range of disciplines – from the sciences, politics and psychology to languages, mathematics and the arts. Budding entrepreneurs are encouraged to pursue Business Studies and Economics and can join the Young Entrepreneurs Club, gaining early insights into the professional world and even meeting alumni working in London’s financial hub. In 2022, Felsted’s IB students achieved an average of 36 points, with nearly 20% scoring 40 points or higher – results that opened doors to leading universities including Bristol, Exeter, London institutions and destinations overseas.
Music and the Arts
Creativity is celebrated at Felsted. A superbly equipped modern art school, music auditorium, percussion suites, drama studios and a recording studio ensure every musical or artistic talent is nurtured. Students can take individual music lessons, perform in choirs and orchestras, or shine as soloists in regular concerts and shows. A unique partnership with the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama allows exceptional musicians to follow an integrated programme. The school’s annual arts festival is a much-anticipated highlight.
Sport
Sport is a longstanding strength at Felsted. The school offers expansive facilities and expert coaching in core sports such as rugby, hockey, cricket, tennis and netball. Students can also take part in a wide range of other sports, including basketball, swimming, squash, athletics, golf, badminton, riding and even polo. Every two weeks, competitive fixtures take students off campus – something pupils eagerly anticipate. More ambitious athletes can join school sports tours, offering opportunities to compete and grow at a higher level.
Clubs, Enrichment and Global Citizenship
With over 50 extracurricular clubs and activities, every Felsted student finds their passion – from beekeeping and creative writing to yoga, cartooning, debating and photography. And if a club doesn’t exist yet? Students are encouraged to start their own. We’re particularly impressed by the school’s commitment to social responsibility. Students regularly volunteer in international outreach projects – most recently, helping rebuild a school in Peru and supporting vulnerable children in Mumbai through the Magic Bus initiative.
Felsted School Fees
Felsted’s boarding fees are £17,766 per term, or £53,300 per academic year.
This is Felsted
What We Saw
Picture this: you arrive at a grand gate set into a weathered stone wall. As it opens, lush playing fields stretch out before you, filled with students playing rugby and tennis under wide skies. On your left, a cluster of majestic red-brick buildings rises out of the greenery. This is no fairytale – it’s everyday life at Felsted School. This is a place where tradition is worn with pride and students are immersed in British values and heritage. Even the on-site care home, where pupils volunteer, speaks volumes about the school’s community culture.

Every boarding school has its own character and ethos. Having personally visited more than 100 schools, we understand these nuances. We also work with schools that do not pay commission, ensuring that our advice remains independent and always in the best interest of your child.
Our roots lie in the UK. For years, we have placed 200–300 families annually into British boarding schools. While our portfolio now includes schools beyond Britain, the UK remains at the heart of what we do.
Our tailored approach results in exceptional acceptance rates. For example, in 2022/23, all seven students we placed at the highly selective Malvern College received offers – a 100% success rate.
We arrange for prospective families to speak with our current students to hear first-hand accounts of life at a UK boarding school.
