One of the smallest and most colourful school communities in Britain resides on the rural campus of Abbey College. Thanks to its specialised educational pathways, the college ranks number 1 out of 4,470 English schools for student progress, according to the UK Department for Education.
The Licensed Victualler’s School (LVS) Ascot is a particularly caring and nurturing environment, which we warmly recommend especially for shy children and those with learning difficulties. We especially value the safe and supportive atmosphere that LVS Ascot creates for both learning and living. As a non-selective school, it is committed to encouraging each pupil’s individual strengths and interests. Mistakes are seen as part of personal growth, and students are encouraged to embrace the many opportunities offered by the curriculum and the co-curricular programme.
LVS Ascot is one of three schools in Britain overseen by the Licensed Trade Charity, which has been supporting education for 225 years. This charity and its schools have traditionally enjoyed good relations with the British Royal Family. Queen Elizabeth II honoured the LVS schools as their patron. Since its foundation in 1803, LVS Ascot has been educating boys and girls in welcoming, modern brick buildings just an hour from London.

LVS Ascot in Detail
Academics
There’s something for everyone in the wide-ranging subject offering: alongside traditional subjects you’ll find Travel and Tourism, Food Science, Law and Criminology, for example. The qualifications available include GCSEs, IGCSEs and A-Levels, as well as some practical BTEC options. The Sixth Form Centre offers computer and tutor rooms, as well as indoor and outdoor communal areas where senior students can study and relax together. Modern technology and digital tools are used intelligently throughout all the teaching. The school also excels in careers guidance, offering one-to-one advice, insights into the world of work and university life, and access to internships and jobs through its strong network of respected employers.
The Arts
Creativity thrives at LVS Ascot. The curriculum offers a rich selection of arts subjects, including Art, Drama, Creative Digital Media Production, Photography, Product Design and Textiles at A-Level. And creative pursuits don’t stop when lessons end: pottery, digital drawing and Musical Theatre join choirs and various bands on the extensive extracurricular menu. Keen dancers can take regular classes as well as join the Elite Dance Club. We’re particularly impressed by the school’s annual Performing Arts Festival, which even attracts students from other schools to participate. Guests are welcomed into the school’s own 250-seat theatre.
Sport
Physical activity is a core part of the E4 programme – Exercise, Enrichment, Enjoyment, Extension – firmly embedded in the timetable. LVS Ascot wants all its pupils to find joy in movement. Highlights include the annual Sports Festival and there’s a diverse range of activities such as rowing, table tennis, handball and Zumba. The sporting programme emphasises not just physical and mental well-being, but also resilience, determination and mindfulness. The school has produced athletes for the England U18 Hockey and U16 Football national teams. LVS Ascot is also proud of its ISA Award 2021, recognising it as having one of the best sports programmes among such schools. The football academy partnership is strong, and E-Sports is a growing area of focus, too.
Enrichment & Well-being
The vibrant extracurricular life also features chess, crochet, film clubs and even driving theory classes for Sixth Formers. Excursions to Oxford, Windsor or Bracknell bring further variety. Shared activities – quiz nights, ice skating, bowling – foster a close-knit boarding community, as does the much-loved Sunday brunch, complete with a traditional English breakfast. LVS Ascot’s catering, as one of six selected innovation hubs, focuses on fresh, seasonal produce and contemporary food trends. The school’s charitable heritage lives on in its commitment to student well-being. Many pupils make use of The Snug, a calm, secure retreat from the bustle of school life.

Every boarding school has its own character and ethos. Having personally visited more than 100 schools, we understand these nuances. We also work with schools that do not pay commission, ensuring that our advice remains independent and always in the best interest of your child.
Our roots lie in the UK. For years, we have placed 200–300 families annually into British boarding schools. While our portfolio now includes schools beyond Britain, the UK remains at the heart of what we do.
Our tailored approach results in exceptional acceptance rates. For example, in 2022/23, all seven students we placed at the highly selective Malvern College received offers – a 100% success rate.
We arrange for prospective families to speak with our current students to hear first-hand accounts of life at a UK boarding school.
