The beautiful campus is home to a strong community where pupils look out for one another. The school shines with an impressive sports programme, focusing on traditional British sports such as rugby, cricket, and field hockey.
Shrewsbury School is selective — not every applicant is offered a place. That makes it all the more gratifying that in recent years, every one of our students who applied with our support and preparation has been successfully accepted.
British tradition and history is tangible across Shrewsbury’s campus — we felt it instantly during our visit. A wealth of opportunities and a close-knit, family-like atmosphere take centre stage here. Boarding houses can be individually decorated, and caring houseparents teach pupils the importance of responsibility and mutual support. People here truly help each other.
The school also impresses with its excellent academic, extracurricular, and creative offerings — including its own biology museum. It’s worth noting that the renowned naturalist Charles Darwin was once a pupil here!
Thanks to its direct access to the River Severn, Shrewsbury is a paradise for rowers. We found the campus layout particularly interesting — the sports fields and boarding houses are dotted throughout the grounds. At Shrewsbury, sport and community are intertwined and form an integral part of daily life.

Creative Arts
The sense of community at Shrewsbury School is very strong! This is especially true in the eleven boarding houses, where a close bond exists and each house has its own unique character and distinctive colours. In smaller competitions across sports, drama, and music, teamwork and community spirit are actively encouraged and developed. Over the course of their time at school, boys and girls gradually take on more responsibility, fostering a brotherly and sisterly relationship among the students.

The language programme offers German, French, Spanish, and Latin. The school also stands out for its Academic Enrichment Courses, where students can develop future-oriented skills such as debating and accounting.

As the recipient of the “School of the Year for Performing Arts 2018” award, Shrewsbury School boasts a first-class creative arts department. The art department, located at the heart of the campus, features several modern studios and two art galleries showcasing students’ work, which are even regularly visited by external artists. Students can explore a wide range of disciplines, from fine art, photography, and art history to 3D modelling and graphic design. The outstanding music department also shines, offering numerous ensembles and the annual House Singing Competition. Drama and school musicals complete Shrewsbury’s creative experience, giving students the opportunity to participate in enriching trips, such as visits to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Our Visit
During our visit in Summer 2025, we enjoyed a wonderful guided tour of the campus. We were particularly struck by the individual character of the boarding houses, which reflect the school’s family feel. You can’t help but want to move in yourself! The immaculate lawns and impressive sports fields scattered across the campus left a lasting impression. The historic main building with its modern heart, a statue of Charles Darwin, and the school’s own chapel give Shrewsbury its unique character, which we found thoroughly charming.

Every boarding school has its own character and ethos. Having personally visited more than 100 schools, we understand these nuances. We also work with schools that do not pay commission, ensuring that our advice remains independent and always in the best interest of your child.
Our roots lie in the UK. For years, we have placed 200–300 families annually into British boarding schools. While our portfolio now includes schools beyond Britain, the UK remains at the heart of what we do.
Our tailored approach results in exceptional acceptance rates. For example, in 2022/23, all seven students we placed at the highly selective Malvern College received offers – a 100% success rate.
We arrange for prospective families to speak with our current students to hear first-hand accounts of life at a UK boarding school.
