“My time at Clayesmore was an incredibly valuable experience. The teaching was excellent, the staff were very capable, and everything was well organised.
It was fascinating to compare Clayesmore with my school back home – and I have to say, I found Clayesmore much better in every way! The teachers were more skilled, and the lessons made strong use of digital tools. The highlight for me was working with the 3D printer.
I can warmly recommend Clayesmore to other families. It’s a fantastic school where German-speaking students are in very good hands – and where they can truly thrive.”

„My time as a boarder at St Bees School in England has been truly special and enriching. From a very early stage, I settled in well, quickly felt a strong sense of belonging, and realised how much importance is placed on a positive community spirit and the well-being of every individual. Boarding life plays a significant role in creating this atmosphere. Film and games evenings, shared activities such as trips to major cities like Manchester, as well as opportunities to take part in activities such as paddleboarding or paintball, ensure that there is always something to look forward to and that students spend meaningful time together.
The school’s manageable size creates a warm, family-like environment in which students are not only recognised but genuinely welcomed. At the same time, the friendly and supportive teachers and small class sizes make learning more personal, encourage open exchange, and allow room for individual development. I particularly enjoy the wide range of sporting opportunities — especially the fact that I am able to continue playing volleyball and have also discovered new sports such as Eton Fives, which turned out to be surprisingly fun. Overall, I feel very much at home at St Bees School. I have met many wonderful people from different countries and have noticed how much I have grown personally and how many valuable experiences I have gained. This time means a great deal to me, and I am truly grateful to be able to experience it.“

“When I arrived one Saturday in April, the first thing I noticed was how large the school grounds are – especially the enormous sports field. Then I stepped into the dining hall, just in time for ‘Brunch’, and was amazed at how new and beautiful it was (you can see it in the pictures online!). Afterwards, a staff member gave me a tour of the campus. From the outside, the school looked lovely – I was impressed. Then I was shown to the boarding house, which, in contrast to the modern dining hall, had more of a classic British feel.
The staff and houseparents were all incredibly kind, and I instantly felt in good hands. Everyone really made an effort to make me feel at home. The other students were lovely, too, and I quickly settled in and made new friends.
I feel very happy here. I’m especially excited about the weekend trips and school events like movie nights and game afternoons. We often visit towns nearby, where we’re allowed to explore and do some shopping in small groups. Coming up are some exciting things like a beach trip and go-karting!”

“My first experience abroad at Rossall gave me so many new impressions and friendships – from France to Bangladesh to Brazil. The teachers were incredibly supportive from the very beginning and helped me adapt quickly to the new school system. My houseparents were wonderful – they made sure I felt at home and I didn’t experience any homesickness.
My daily routine was full from morning to evening. After a short registration with our tutor group, lessons began at 8:30am and finished at 4:15pm. Afterwards, we had a wide range of extracurricular activities to choose from. After dinner and two hours of prep, we could relax with friends from other houses – I especially enjoyed watching the sunsets and spending time in the Dayroom.
Although I originally planned to stay for just three months, I’ve now returned in September to complete the IB Diploma. Akademis Boarding Schools Consulting were incredibly helpful from the start, always focused on finding the right school for me.”

“I’ve been at Scarborough for three weeks now and it already feels like home. The first few days were naturally a bit tough – I missed home – but everyone gave me such a warm welcome. Our houseparents, Mr and Mrs Weder, are absolutely lovely.
Since I wasn’t the only new girl, I had others to settle in with, and we now do everything together. School is actually funfor the first time because everything is so well thought through and tailored to us.
We’ve all fallen in love with the beach – every day after prep, we go for a walk along the shore and explore the area. Scarborough is a beautiful town with charming houses and stunning scenery – the sunsets are the best I’ve ever seen. The only sad thing is knowing that some of the friends I’ve grown so close to will leave after this term. But we’re already making plans to see each other again – and I’m excited to welcome the next lovely people who come to this school.”

Julia
“I received a huge amount of help from Akademis Boarding Schools Consulting in finding the right school, and I’m so grateful. It had long been my dream to go to school in England, and with their incredible support, that dream came true.
I’ve been at Box Hill School since September 2023, where I’m doing the International Baccalaureate. Since arriving, I’ve met students from all over the world and made lifelong friendships.
One highlight for me is how close the school is to London. I live in Atwood House, which in my opinion is the best boarding house! While the rooms aren’t singles, each one has its own private bathroom – which is a huge plus. The rooms are really modern and well equipped, too.”

Madeleine
“I arrived on a Sunday evening and was welcomed warmly by the Housemistress – a young woman who showed me my room right away and explained the schedule for the coming days.
I quickly became part of the Buckswood community. The school arranged activities and outings for us, and I especially loved the movie nights and the Formal Dinner.
The wellbeing of the students is clearly a top priority for both the teachers and house staff.
What I found particularly enriching was the cultural exchange with my classmates – I made friends with students from all over the world. The campus is surrounded by beautiful countryside and offers great opportunities for both sport and creative activities.
It’s not unusual to see a peacock, horse, or chicken on your way to breakfast – or to have to shoo one out of a room!”

“After a detailed and very pleasant conversation with Mr Thierfelder, we decided to help our daughter realise her big dream of spending time at an elite English boarding school. Thanks to his excellent contacts, we were able to visit several schools during the autumn break, and were warmly welcomed – everyone spoke very highly of Akademis!
We’ve now found an excellent school, and even beyond the placement itself, Akademis continued to offer us support, for example with recommendations for UK Guardians. This agency really knows the market. Thank you to the whole team!”

“We came to know Akademis Boarding Schools Consulting as a consultancy that is extraordinarily focused, competent, and genuinely committed to its clients. We wanted to give our daughter the opportunity to attend boarding school in Scotland.
The director himself took the time for a very friendly and thorough first meeting, where he really sought to understand our daughter’s personality, wishes, and ideas – and within just 24 hours we had a list of excellent school suggestions, all clearly explained and based directly on our conversation.
We were always able to contact him or our assigned consultant with questions – and got immediate, helpful answers every time. This agency truly puts children first – their motto of treating every child as if they were their own is taken seriously.
Thanks to their outstanding contacts, our daughter was accepted into a prestigious school that had technically already closed admissions. Even after she arrived, they continued to check in and offer support – even though they didn’t have to.
We wholeheartedly recommend Akademis and its team. Their work is not just a job – it’s a mission, carried out with care and expertise. Our special thanks go to Mr Thierfelder and Mr Soeyadi – we wish you continued success!”

„I have now been at RGS Surrey Hills for a year and will be doing my IB there next year. Last year, when I was still looking for schools, Akademis gave me a lot of support and advice, and among other things, they recommended RGS Surrey Hills to me. Once I had a shortlist of schools, Akademis quickly and spontaneously made it possible for me to visit these boarding schools.
When I arrived at RGS Surrey Hills, I immediately knew that this was the boarding school I wanted to attend. I felt at home right away. Thanks to the two-week Summer School programme at the end of the summer holidays, which served as a transition into the new school year, it was easy to make friends with other new students and to get to know the campus and classrooms.
In lessons, the teachers are also very helpful and take the time to answer questions. It’s also worth mentioning that the boarding school is beautifully located in the countryside yet close to London — in my opinion, the perfect balance of peace and excitement.
I would therefore recommend RGS Surrey Hills, as well as the guidance provided by Akademis, to anyone looking for a school where they will feel at home straight away and have a wonderful experience in England.“
