Quintessentially British, academically strong, and undeniably sporty — these are the hallmarks of Tettenhall College. The school also impresses with some of the finest boarding houses in the country.
Tettenhall College sits proudly on a striking campus, blending historic buildings with a vast woodland, extensive sports fields, modern facilities, and even its own Victorian theatre! Nestled in idyllic greenery, the school lies in the picturesque village of Tettenhall, right in the heart of England — yet students also benefit from the proximity to the bustling cities of Wolverhampton and Birmingham.
Back in 1863, the school began with just 15 boys and a cow; today, around 500 students pass through its gates, 80% of them British. Pupils particularly value the school’s open-door policy — here, teachers are always approachable and willing to listen. The newly refurbished boarding houses are also a standout feature, offering some of the best accommodation for boarders nationwide.

Tettenhall College in Detail
Sport
Tettenhall College excels with a robust sports programme that fosters teamwork, dedication, and resilience. Students enjoy access to superb facilities, including a sports hall with cricket nets, a laser-shooting range, and a cross-country trail through ancient woodland. The top-tier squash courts, a gift from an “Old Tettenhallian,” add a personal touch. The school also runs a swimming academy catering to both beginners and seasoned swimmers — all within its own pool. A host of quintessentially British sports such as rugby, football, cricket, hockey, and tennis are on offer, alongside gymnastics, fencing, archery, yoga, step aerobics, and karate, ensuring there is something for everyone.
Beyond the Classroom
Whether it’s horse riding, joining the book club, beekeeping, programming, or climbing, Tettenhall College offers an extraordinary range of activities. The extracurricular programme changes every term, giving pupils plenty of opportunities to try something new and challenge themselves. Those keen to contribute to the community can join the Charity Committee, helping to organise events ranging from bake sales to the ever-popular annual talent show, which is always a sell-out. At weekends, boarders can look forward to trips to the cinema or a cat café, shopping excursions, paintballing, bowling, and, of course, visits to London and Manchester.
Sixth Form
One of the Sixth Form’s highlights is its innovative Pathways Programme, which allows students to tailor their studies towards future careers, with pathways in health sciences, creative arts, and business, enterprise and finance. Beyond lessons, students can use the welcoming Study Centre to focus on their work, or unwind with a game of billiards in the common room. The Sixth Form community is tight-knit, and academic results speak for themselves: in 2024, 29% of A-level grades awarded were A*-A. The school also runs a successful careers programme, which includes trips to distinguished destinations such as the university city of Oxford.
Music & Drama
With two choirs, an orchestra, three rock bands, a music theory club, and a samba group, there are countless ways for students to express their musical talents. Performances at the annual garden party, Christmas concert, and the Old Tettenhallians BBQ offer regular opportunities to shine. Recently, the school choir even performed at Disneyland Paris — an experience to remember! In drama, pupils are encouraged to follow their passion, whether that’s acting, set design, costume, or backstage technical work. Productions — staged in the Victorian Tower Theatre — include both musicals and classic plays and are among the highlights of the school year.

Every boarding school has its own character and ethos. Having personally visited more than 100 schools, we understand these nuances. We also work with schools that do not pay commission, ensuring that our advice remains independent and always in the best interest of your child.
Our roots lie in the UK. For years, we have placed 200–300 families annually into British boarding schools. While our portfolio now includes schools beyond Britain, the UK remains at the heart of what we do.
Our tailored approach results in exceptional acceptance rates. For example, in 2022/23, all seven students we placed at the highly selective Malvern College received offers – a 100% success rate.
We arrange for prospective families to speak with our current students to hear first-hand accounts of life at a UK boarding school.
