Westonbirt School in Detail
Academics
At Westonbirt School, every student receives optimal and individual support. Although the school is non-selective, it places great emphasis on tailored development, yielding impressive results: recently, 46% of students achieved top grades in A-Levels, and 40% of GCSE graduates earned top marks (grades 9–7). Furthermore, 90% of graduates secure a place at their first-choice university.
The Sixth Form curriculum is exceptionally broad. Alongside traditional A-Levels, students can choose from practical BTECs (e.g., in Dance) and a wide variety of subjects ranging from sciences and languages (including Latin) to Business, Psychology, Product Design, and Drama. Students may also undertake the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) or the exclusive Leiths Food and Wine course. For those seeking a quiet space for independent study, the historic „Staterooms“ of the Victorian manor offer a prestigious and inspiring setting.
Arts, Music and Drama
Culture is a cornerstone of life at Westonbirt, with an incredible two-thirds of all students playing a musical instrument. With a state-of-the-art music technology suite, numerous choirs, and ensembles, musical talent is nurtured at every level. Another spectacular highlight is the school’s Orangery Theatre. This historic venue hosts major annual productions, with recent successes including The Lion King and Les Misérables. For those passionate about art, the spacious studios offer facilities for painting, sculpture, and 3D design.
Sport and Equestrian
The school boasts an outstanding infrastructure for sports. The on-site Leisure Centre features a 25-metre swimming pool, a large sports hall, a fitness suite, and even a private 9-hole golf course. A standout feature is the rapidly growing equestrian programme. The school provides professional competition management and elite team training. Students benefit from training at local equestrian centres with experts such as international eventer Nick Gauntlett. The team competes successfully in Dressage, Showjumping, and Eventing, regularly qualifying for the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) championships.
Student Life and Boarding
With over 170 clubs, ranging from medical societies to a Harry Potter club, there is something for every interest. Older students in the Sixth Form enjoy the privilege of their own café and bar, available for socialising during select evenings. Boarding at Westonbirt offers an authentic, warm „home-from-home“ experience. A major highlight is Holford House, an exclusive boarding house for the Sixth Form, where students live in en-suite single rooms to prepare for the independence of university life. Meals are taken in the magnificent historic dining halls, prepared by a kitchen team that includes a specialist pastry chef.

Our roots lie in the UK. For years, we have placed 200–300 families annually into British boarding schools. While our portfolio now includes schools beyond Britain, the UK remains at the heart of what we do.
Our tailored approach results in exceptional acceptance rates. For example, in 2022/23, all seven students we placed at the highly selective Malvern College received offers – a 100% success rate.
We arrange for prospective families to speak with our current students to hear first-hand accounts of life at a UK boarding school.
